Tuesday’s Sonnet: The King Of The Robot Men

The King Of The Robot Men

On Space Station Zero the Robot Men waited
Assembled in ranks to honor their king
Their armor was freshly titanium plated
Their voices were ready their anthem to sing

But the waiting went on and there was no king
“Why isn’t he coming? What has gone wrong?”
The Monkey Musicians could not play a thing
The Dinosaurs asked what was taking so long

“Is not everything ready?” wondered the team
“The Giants with trumpets, the Dwarfs with their drums?
The Atomic Electric Butterfly Beam?
Who shall we serve if our king never comes?”

On Space Station Zero no music will play
One of the mighty has fallen today

  1. David Emeron says:

May I please ask if this is an ode to Neil Armstrong? If I may, this is me, asking. 🙂

  2. MishaBurnett says:

No, actually, it’s not. But I can see how you’d get that idea.

  3. MishaBurnett says:

I don’t mean to be enigmatic, but I am planning to write a piece on the creation of each of these after I’ve done the seventh.
