Today I had my book signing at All On The Same Page Books, and it was a good experience. It wasn’t a huge crowd, but several of my friends dropped by and everyone who came in bought something, which makes it a win-win situation as far as I’m concerned.
In addition to that, a new promotion just went live on Story Cartel, which a fairly new site designed to promote independent authors.
I’m continuing to work on my next novel, up to over 33,000 words now. I’m trying to aim for a release date no later than July of this year (which would make it a year after Catskinner’s Book).
I’m tired, but it’s a good kind of tired. I’ve gotten to the point where I am simply committed to doing the best job I can do and not anticipate the results. Hard work can be its own reward, and at the end of the day I can sleep the sleep of the just. I’ve earned it.
Proud of you! Sorry I couldn’t go!
Thank you, kid! You live 300 miles away and work weekends–I really wasn’t expecting you to show up.
Reblogged this on Robin Writes.
Isn’t that a great looking bookstore!
Looks pretty awesome, huh? 😉 And that soon-to-be-famous author!
And I can see your book on the shelf there in the pic, how cool is that? Yay you!
Actually the first few shelves are all local authors, mostly independently published. The owners are very committed to promoting small press and indie books.
What a great idea. In that case, I’ll give them a yay too!
Wow! Great pic!!
Yeah, that’s MzSusanB–I probably should credit her in the caption…
I thought so. Great meeting her today.
Congratulations! Glad you enjoyed the experience, and best of luck with your next book 🙂
Thank you. I learned such a huge amount writing the first one.
Congratulations 🙂
Thank you.
good for you!! 😉
It was actually pretty fun, once I got over being nervous.
Any fun stories to share from the book signing? There must have been at least a couple 😀
Well, it was interesting having people from very different areas of my life together in the same room. And it was fun watching my friends go into “book-zombie mode” in the store–you know, that vacant look book lovers get when they start scanning the shelves looking for old friends.
You know, I can’t remember the last time I was in a bookstore. Shame on me! You have inspired me to go book-zombie it up. Perhaps not today, but very soon 🙂 And also, congrats on the successful signing!!!
Nice pic. Congrats on the book signing!
Thanks. I really can’t thank All On The Same Page enough–having a local retail bookstore dedicated to helping indie writers is an amazing stroke of fortune.
You’ve defintely earned it!
I’ve yet to have a signing. You’re my hero!
Thanks for the follow and good luck with your book.
