Just received my first test run of the new front and back covers from Create Space. I’m not entirely sure that I like reducing the image on the front–it is such a beautiful shot. But it seemed too busy with the new text… Hurm. Fortunately Create Space allows us to change things as much as we like.
The back cover is much better in the new version–I had no idea what to do with the back cover at first, so I just quoted a passage from the book and did a kind of fade effect–it made sense at the time. The new one is the same synopsis as on Amazon, as well as a couple of quotes from Amazon reviewers.
What about putting “Volume One …” in a different font, or smaller?
That’s something I could try. Thanks.
I agree…make the “volume one” line on the front smaller. The back cover looks great. Always nice to quote reviewers and gives your book validity. Carry these quotes over to volume two, but put them on the inside of the book in the front matter…”What reviewers are saying about Volume One…” kind of thing. And put new quotes about Volume 2 on the back. Chances are Ebook readers won’t see the back cover, but they will see the front matter text.
