We Need A Tune To Open Our Season At South End

I just received an e-mail from ACX in which they sent me 25 codes for free downloads of the audiobook of Catskinner’s Book.  I decided to send ten of them off the top to Brandon McKernan, the outstanding voice actor who brought Catskinner and friends to life.  (Evidently ACX only does this promotion for the authors, not the performers.)

Now, to figure out what to do with the rest.  The way it works is that you have to set up an account with Audible.com to use the code.  I’m sure that Audible is doing it to get people to try out an audiobook in the hopes that they will sell more, but you don’t have to buy anything.

Now, I am also waiting for Amazon to come through with their Whispersync For Voice feature, which I have been assured is in process.  Once that’s live, then anyone who already has the Kindle edition will be able to get the audiobook at a sharp discount.  So I’d prefer to get the free coupons for the audiobook into the hands of people who don’t already have the e-book.

I want to do a giveaway of some kind that will reach new potential readers, who would listen to an audiobook and would like a fantasy/sci-fi/horror/whatever it is.

Any ideas on venues I could check out?

  1. The only venue for those genres that I can think of are a few Facebook sites that you can promote on. One that I use is called ‘Heroic Fantasy’. They’re very active even beyond promotions, so maybe someone there will have an idea or be able to help.

  2. Keep on writing, great job!|
