Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest

So, I went ahead and entered Catskinner’s Book in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest.

I don’t expect to win.  To be honest, I will be shocked if it makes it into the first round. It’s not that I think the contest is rigged or that the judges are philistines who can’t understand my genius or anything like that, it’s just that the contest seems to be geared towards books that are written for a broad audience.

But it didn’t cost me any money and I already had a CreateSpace account and a digital copy in the right format, so it was easy.  It’s open to books that are self-published, and you can enter up until March 2nd.  You do have to set up an account with CreateSpace, but you’re not obligated to ever buy anything from them.

Seems to me you have nothing to lose, except, perhaps, some confidence (but with you I don’t think that’s too great a risk either – you have plenty 🙂 )

    Best of luck!

I suspect you are right on all counts; best of luck anyway.

Good luck – and you never know what will grab a judge’s attention.

Does anyone know where to find a list of their judges?
