Ruach gateway, sheath for teeth
Beyond utility by grace possessed
Mirrored softness, above, beneath
Hunger’s mask and thirsting’s rest

My eyes from your own eyes stray
Descend to meet a redder glance
That dances at the the things you say
Amused, aroused, alive, askance

I long for deeper conversation
With the font from which your words emerge
Beginning with all word’s cessation
Mingled breath, and mingled urge

I want to make you speak, my dear
All those words we cannot hear
