I’ve folded clothes and fed the cat and watered all the plants
Cleaned the kitchen, put away the books, done the shopping for the week
Put the trash out, took the wash in, sprayed the walk for ants
Wiped the shutters, scrubbed the bathtub, fixed that pesky leak

I wrote the checks and paid the bills
Answered all the mail
Polished all the windowsills
Insured the gutters against hail

I’ve cleaned the floors
Swept every one
Oiled the hinges on all the doors
And now I think I’m done

PS I’m bleeding to death inside
By the time you read this I’ll already have died
