Look to the skies, the monsters cried loud
A warning will come from the sky
We waited for fire to fall from a cloud
Certain that we would soon die

Time is short, the end is near
The monsters cried out once more
We huddled together numb with fear
Sure that death stood at the door

This is it, the monsters announced
This time we mean it for sure
Rains of blood and dragons that pounced
Diseases that don’t have a cure

Yet here we still are, and have been for so long
I’m beginning to think that the monsters are wrong.
